2013 National County Health Rankings

Creating A Road Map To Improved Health In Your Communities

On May 1, 2013, NYSACHO sponsored a legislative forum on the 2013 County Health Rankings and the Prevention Agenda, with support from the University of Wisconsin and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The forum presentations feature: Linking the rankings to the Prevention Agenda; the Affordable Care Act and the rankings; and how three local health departments, two with low rankings and one with a high ranking, use the rankings to educate and develop policies to address health conditions and disparities in each of their communities.

NYSACHO thanks the Empire State Public Health Training Center for recording this event for on-line viewing.

Cut Your Sugar

Sugar Sweetened Beverage (SSB) consumption in the United States is currently estimated at 224 calories per day among youth and 203 calories per day among adults.

Responding to evidence that
connects obesity and related
illnesses to excess sugar
consumption, NYSACHO has
developed the Cut Your Sugar site
to help NY State residents become better informed, decrease their sugar consumption, and lead healthier lives.
