Responsibilities
The Nassau County Department of Health is seeking a trained epidemiologist to join its Office of Epidemiology. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing health data, assisting in data visualization process, and writing reports. Experience in electronic systems, statistical software, and research methods is necessary.
Minimum Qualification
1.) Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university and continuing certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.; or
2.) Master’s degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, including or supplemented by courses in epidemiology or biostatistics and two years of satisfactory experience conducting epidemiological surveillance and data analysis or performing research in a public health field; or
3.) Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, including or supplemented by courses in epidemiology or biostatistics and one year of satisfactory experience conducting epidemiological surveillance and data analysis or performing research in a public health field.
Special Requirement
One year of Nassau County residency required
