Social Health Investigator Trainee

Responsibilities

The Nassau County Department of Health is seeking a college graduatefor a career in Communicable Disease Control’s Sexually Transmitted Diseases Unit. The individual will conduct investigations and interview patients to obtain personal history and possible sources of infection.

Minimum Qualification

1.) Master’s degree in a social work or a health field from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university; or

2.) Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university
AND
One year of satisfactory experience conducting social services or public health investigations or eligibility reviews and/or conducting health counseling or health education.

Special Requirement

Salary

Starting $32,855

After 6 months $37,528

After 12 months $44,555

Residency

One year of Nassau County residency required.

Salary: $33,855
