SHIN-NY

SHIN-NY is not something you do to climb to the top of a pole.  It’s the acronym for the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY), the bedrock component of an interoperable Health Information Infrastructure, needed to transform health care from today's largely paper-based system to an electronic, interconnected health care system in New York State.

As we all hear more and more about Informatics, Health IT, e-Health, electronic health records (EHRs), Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs), NYeC (NY e-Health Collaborative), Health Information Exchange (HIEs), Universal Public Health Node (UPHN), and Virtual Health Records (VHRs), you may need to be reminded of the “Consensus Framework for Advancing Public Health Informatics”  posted at http://www.nysacho.org/files/jphit_consensus-framework-approved-april202011.pdf.  And for more see on SHIN-NY, see http://www.health.ny.gov/technology/technical_infrastructure.htm
